ATANAS PAPARIZOV INFORMED THE PES GROUP FOR THE PROPOSALS FOR CHANGES IN THE BULGARIAN GOVERNMENT
At the meeting of the PES Group Paparizov gave an overview before the Socialist MEPs on the motives of the Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev for making changes in the Cabinet.
The Bulgarian MEP introduced his colleagues to the proposals for ministers emphasizing on their professionalism and personal qualities with a special focus on the election of Mihail Mikov as Minister of Internal Affairs and of Meglena Plugchieva as Deputy Prime Minister in charge of European funds assimilation.
Paparizov paid attention to the intolerable statement of the head of the European People's Party (EPP) - Joseph Daul, given before journalists on April 8, 2008 regarding the possibility of imposing sanctions on the Bulgarian government.
During the debate that followed Paparizov's presentation, the European Socialists expressed their support for the reforms carried out in Bulgaria emphasizing on the policy led by the cabinet and the political will for performance of their commitments.
