PASOS Executive Director Jeff Lovitt in an online-chat with our readers on Tuesday morning

Tomorrow: join the concluding online-chat of a series of thematic internet-discussions “Now – interacting with the EP!”

Is the Lisbon Treaty more or less likely to be ratified by Ireland and the Czech Republic in the light of the economic crisis and the fall of the Czech government respectively?

How has the Czech EU Presidency's performance reflected on the influence and status of the new EU members; and does it reflect on the prospects for future new members' presidency (Hungary and Poland in 2011) and/or on future EU enlargement?

These are the key topics of the forthcoming online-discussion, organized by Europe Gateway, with Jeff Lovitt, a leading European think-tank expert. He is Executive Director of PASOS (Policy Association for an Open Society), a network of 37 independent think-tanks spanning 24 countries in Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

The online chat will take place on Tuesday, April 14, from 9 to 10 a.m. CET (10 – 11 Bulgarian time) through the platform http://chat.europe.bg. The conversation will be held in English. Following the event, its full script will be published on http://parliament.europe.bg – the website of the initiative “Now – interacting with the European Parliament!”

All readers from all the Member States are invited to join the discussion with questions and opinions – no preliminary registration is required and the login takes a few seconds only. Questions and opinions can be also submitted in advance through email at parliament@europe.bg.

The event is organized as part of the initiative “Now – interacting with the European Parliament!”, which is implemented by the European Institute, the Center for Policy Modernization and Europe Gateway and is co-funded by the EP’s DG “Communication”. The PASOS Network is among the project’s partners.

This is the concluding online-chat of a series of thematic internet-discussions, organized by the project team, for citizens to dialogue with prominent members of the European parliament, experts, analysts and NGO representatives.
