MACEDONIA AIMS AT EU MEMBERSHIP IN THE NAME OF FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES, CHIEF OF VICE-PREMIER'S CABINET JORDANOVA SAYS
The efforts made by Macedonia to become a EU member-state are not necessarily because of the financial aids, but mainly for the sake of the future opportunities of the coutry, Mrs. Malinka Ristevska Jordanova said in an interview for Portal EUROPE. Mrs. Jordanova is the Chief of Cabinet for the Deputy Prime Minister of Macedonia Radmila Sekerinska, heading the European integration, Government of the Republic of Macedonia.
What we need is to ultimately have the opportunities, equal chances, as well as the capacity to grab these chances, Mrs. Jordanova pointed out. In her words, the competition does not end with the beginning of the membership. The competition becomes even tougher, and it is not an easy thing to become money from the European Commission, she said.
Mrs. Jordanova told Portal EUROPE.BG that Macedonia is putting efforts into working on its own agenda, trying not to be distracted by raising fears concerning future EU enlargements. Skopie is working intensively on its homework, in Mrs. Jordanova's words, and tries to make its best to achieve the European membership goals.
Macedonia perceives the advancement of Romania and Bulgaria as a positive sign. The earlier and the more prepared these two countries acceed into the Union, the better for the next to come, Mrs. Jordanova concluded.
