Ministry of Agriculture and Food and Dairy Producers Came to an Agreement that Subsidies be paid in December

The negotiations between representatives of the dairy producers on strike in Sofia and the Minister of Agriculture Valeri Tsvetanov came to an end. The final agreement is for the payments in due course to be disbursed in December, Darik Radio informed.

Dairy producers from all over the country gathered in protest in demand of their subsidies for high quality milk. The stock-farmers claim that the last payments they got were for March and they claim for the money from then on to be disbursed.

The strikers blocked Hristo Botev Blvd for about an hour which caused major traffic congestion in the vicinity of Ministry of Agriculture and Ruski Pametnik. There were also street affrays with no body injured and no casualties. Once again the chairman of the Association of Dairy producers in Bulgaria was arrested.
