Two meetings, part of "We make Europe simple", held in March and April

At the end of March and in April the first Italian group, consisting of representatives from the local community of Trentino, had a number of meeting with their Bulgarian counterparts. The participants to the seminar “We Make Europe Simple” were addressed in a speech by Mr Enzio Peraro – director of the Italian Institute in Sofia. After the seminar there was a direct online discussion where Bulgarian members of the European Parliment were answering from the town of Gabrovo to questions on the theme “Anti-crisis Measures and Social Policy: the EU Programmes and the National Actions”.
The Sofia visit programme also included presentation of the EU networks Europe Direct, Enterprise Europe Network, European Consumer Centre. The cross-culture connections between Bulgaria and Italy were discussed during a presentation of the club UNESCO-Leonardo da Vinci, done by Mrs. Jeannette Borlakova – president of the club.
In Italy, the Bulgarian group was introduced to a number of initiatives in the town of Trento, in Perdjine and Milano City. Representatives from Europe Direct from the towns Gabrovo and Dobrich, from the European Consumer Centre, and the foundations “European Institute” and “Centre for Policy Modernisation”, took part in the visit in the period 22-29 April. In Trento the Bulgarian group met also representatives of the local authorities and discussed on the perspectives and challenges to the EU regions. A discussion-conversation was held at information office Europe Direct Trentino. On April 25 in an outdoor session, the group was familiarized with the project “Europe in the Field”.
On April 26, at the Information Office of the EP in Milano was held a discussion - “Europe 2020: European Citizens and the EU Institutions”, where participated Mrs. Lara Comi - (EPP/PDL) - Vice-Chairwoman of the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection, member of the Delegation for relations with Afghanistan and Substitute of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy and the Delegation to the EU-Russia Parliamentary Cooperation Committee).
On 27 and 28 April a series of conversations and experience exchange were held with different organizations and institutions – the governing body of the Regional Operative Programme for Lombardia region, the EU units of Milano Province and Milano Municipality, Centro Europa per la Scuola, l’Educazione e la Societа и ISPI - Istituto per gli Studi di Politica Internazionale.
“We Make Europe Simple” is a project of the Centre for Policy Modernisation foundation in cooperation with Istituto agrario San Michele all'Adige, and the internet site Europe Gateway. The project is being implemented with the financial support of Europe for the Citizens Programme of the European Commission.
