Plugchieva: We have sent the report to EC, now we are waiting for an impartial assessment

"The report to the head of the EC Enlargement Directorate Michael Lee has already been sent to Brussels", the Deputy Prime Minister announced cited by Darik. Plugchieva emphasized that she is waiting for an impartial assessment from the European Commission.

"EU Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn is personally engaged in getting acquainted with the report and giving comments as soon as possible but in the most precise and thorough way. I have assured Brussels that we are not speaking of any imitation or simulation of activity before the next monitoring report, which, as you know, shall be released in the end of July but of real and permanent actions - the system related to EU funds management shall work permanently", Plugchieva stated.

"We are expecting to receive the expert assistance pledged. I would like to clarify something with regards to the LOTAR system and to assure you that this is a system for supervision and management aimed at keeping track of the entire process. This is neither a sanction nor some special control mechanism implemented in Bulgaria only", Plugchieva specified.
