Atanas Kunchev has resigned

The executive director of Fund Agriculture Atanas Kunchev had sent his resignation, informed Valeri Tsvetanov, minister of Agriculture and Food in an interview for "Trud" (BGNES). The minister specifies that the resignation lies on personal grounds.

On Monday the minister and the ex-director of State Fund Agriculture - Paying Agency discussed the implementation of the action plan concerning regarding the Paying Agency, the ministry press center reported. They decided to hold a work meetings between the MAF and SFA-PA every Tuesday. In the beginning of November a mission of the EC will examine the implementation of the accreditation criteria of the Paying Agency.

On April 30th, 2008, the minister of Agriculture and Food signed an order, which put the State Fund Agriculture - Paying Agency in a phase of probation until November 30th 2008. The Paying Agency is to appoint and train the personnel needed, to provide building fund and to make any additional adjustments in the information system.

In the interview Valeri Tsvetanov confirms, that in the day of the suicide of Ahmed Emin the head of the office of Ahmed Dugan, he had been in a meeting with the leader of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms. "I went to Belovodski put. I wanted to discuss some current issues with Dugan, to tell him how things are going at the ministry. Emin Ahmed said: 'Try not to bother the boss'." The minister of agriculture explained about the encounter with Ahmed Amin.

In his opinion "he /Ahmed Emin - ed.'s note/ was nervous, absent-minded". Valeri Tsvetanov said about Emin that he had been a man of incredible sense of humour, moderate, responsible. Whenever he could not reach his boss he knew he could count on him. "I always thought of him as a pillar, a man to whom I could address my issues and look for solution." Tsvetanov said. The minister also said he has no explanation for what happened. "I have no logical explanation" Valeri Tsvetanov repeated several times.
