The president of European's People Party Wilfred Martens recommended that the elections for European and national parliament be on the same day. Martens is in Bulgaria at the invitation of GERB ( Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria) and of MEP Rumiana Zheleva (EPP-ED_GERB).

According to the EPP leader it is inappropriate in time of financial crisis to spend funds for two separate votes, BNR reported. Martens also thinks that it is not suited for the elections to take place during the summer when people are on vacation.

The president of the biggest party in the European Parliament is in Bulgaria at the invitation of GERB and tomorrow morning he is having a work breakfast with the leaders of all Bulgarian parties, members of EPP.
