The implemented project “Integrated Cross-border Tourism – The Future of Tourism in Nikopol and Turnu Magurele” is the first project implemented by Nikopol Municipality under programmed PHARE-CBC. The idea of the project was a result of the willingness and desire of both administrations , utilizing the nature , historical and cultural data ot the region, to create possibilities for further economic growth, by proposing and suggesting attractive and high quality tourist products.
Target groups:Municipalities Nikopol and Turnu Magurele – 20 representatives of the administration authorities and business organizations, NGOs, local people, engaged in tourism.
Final beneficiasiers:
- The municipality administrations in Nikopol and Turnu Magurele, will improve their skills, knowledge and capacity for managig and implementing projects, namely in the field of tourism.
- The population of both municipalities will utilize the project results which willl increase the entire economic development of the reion and shall create new employment. New opportunities will be created for starting new businesses in teh region.
Main activities:
- Activity 1: Setting up the project team;
- Activity 2: Conducting of coordinating meeting;
- Activity 3: Carrying out a Survey related to the tourist potentiality of municipalities Nikopol and Turnu Magurele and inventory of the tourist sites ot both municipal rerritories.
- Activity 4: Elaborating a Joint Strategy for tourist potentiality development of municipalities Nikopol and Turnu Magurele;
- Activity 5: Creating an Integrated tourist product of municipalities Nikopol and Turnu Magurele;
- Activity 6: Working out a marketing plan for promoting the integrated Bulgarian-Romanian tourist product;
- Activity 7: Conducting a one-day Roubd table with participation of various enterprisers’ representatives in the field of tourism in both municipalities; carrying out a 4-day journalist tour, which will get acquainted with the Joint tourist product;
- Activity 8: Creating an Integrated tourist guide for both municipalities; creating brochures, presenting integrated Bulgarian-Romanian tourist product;
- Activity 9: Elaborating a multimedia presentation of the Integrated Nulgarian-Romanian tourist product;
- Activity 10: Printing and spreading of Integrated tourist guide and brochures;
- Activity 11: Training of 20 local enterprisers and local authorities; Developing tourist potentiality of the region and proposing a quality tourist product;
- Activity 12: Integrated Bulgarian-Romanian tourist product presented at the International Tourism Exhibition Vacation and Spa in Sofia 2008;
- Activity 13: Reporting of the project.
